ANNUAL KICKOFF MEETING/NETWORKING

Details: Excited to hear what YPA is planning for the upcoming year? Want to give some suggestions for potential YPA events? Have ideas on how to improve YPA and get more people involved? Just want to network with some cool people? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, then join us on the evening of January 14 as YPA kicks off 2010! While we have some great ideas for the upcoming year, we intentionally leave plenty of room in our schedule for new ideas that are generated during this open-forum brainstorming session.
Once the Kickoff Meeting ends, we’ll move down the street to Crave for networking in the bar area. Crave is walking distance from the Library, on 57 E Market St.
In addition, the start of the new year is the perfect time to become a member and/or update your information, as we’re providing a 30% discount during the month of January! For only $35 (rather than $50) you can become/renew your YPA membership. During 2010, you’ll see multiple events that have a discounted admission fee if you’re a member, so January is the month to sign up. Membership forms will be available at the meeting, or fill it out ahead of time by clicking here. Provide any updated email addresses, name changes, etc to our email address.

Young Professionals and Next Generation Leaders Night with the Zips
Time: 5:30pm -7:00pm networking, followed by U of Akron Zips men’s basketball team versus Miami Redhawks

Details:Join YPA, YPN, the Greater Akron Chamber, Next Generation Leaders, United Way Young Leaders Society, Young Professionals of First Energy and more for a night of fun, networking, and college basketball! Starting at 5:30, we’ll have a networking pregame social, where there will be complimentary appetizers and a cash bar with “happy hour” prices. Then, at 7:00, we’ll watch the Zips take on the Miami Redhawks!
Tickets for this event are $6.00, which includes admission to the pregame social and the basketball game! Tickets must be ordered in advance by calling Katy Ludington at 330-972-8318 or through email at kluding@uakron.edu
