Details: Excited to hear what YPA is planning for the upcoming year? Want to give some suggestions for potential YPA events? Have ideas on how to improve YPA and get more people involved? Just want to network with some cool people? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then join us on the evening of Wednesday, January 12 as YPA kicks off 2011! While we have some great ideas for the upcoming year, we intentionally leave plenty of room in our schedule for new ideas that are generated during this open-forum brainstorming session.
Once the meeting ends, we'll move down the street to Crave for networking at the long table just below the bar area. Crave is within walking distance from the Library, at 57 E Market St.

Details: Come try some great beers and mingle with the Young Professionals of Akron. Join us for a beer tasting social at The Lockview in downtown Akron. During the tasting, the knowledgeable bartenders at Lockview will detail some of the characteristics/history of the beers and will be available to answer any related questions. Once you've sampled a few, select from a list of over 130 imports and microbrews! Complementary appetizers will be provided.
If you are a young professional, come join us. This event is open to YPA members and non-members. The beer tasting is optional and will cost an additional $5 to participate (payable at the event). Please remember to tip your bartenders!

Details: Get ready to enjoy an evening of mingle and mix bowling while having a fun and relaxing time networking with Young Professionals of Akron! Teams will be picked randomly so this will be a great opportunity to meet current and new members. To add to the fun, prizes will be awarded to the top bowlers!
Note: Your admission price includes shoes and 2 games. If you feel like staying a little longer, you can always pay the alley for additional games or mingle with other attendees in the bar area as you finish up your games.

Keep Akron Beautiful "Scavenger Hunt" with YPA

Details: YPA will once again participate in the Keep Akron Beautiful week. We'll meet at Damascus Road Coffee (located in the arcade level of FirstMerit Tower at 106 S Main St in Akron) around 8am for complimentary coffee, bagels, muffins, etc. We'll walk to our cleanup location (still being confirmed by the KAB committee) around 8:45ish. Official YPA t-shirts will be provided to all volunteers, along with trash bags, hand sanitizer, and surgical gloves (you are encouraged to bring your own heavy duty gloves, and wear old shoes and clothes, and please dress for the weather). Bottled water will also be provided. Each volunteer will also be given a Scavenger Hunt checklist, where a prize will be given to the person who finds the most items on the checklist. While the event is from 8am to noon, you're welcome to arrive anytime.
Note: Please fill out the related waiver form, and indicate a preferred t-shirt size when RSVPing. While we're likely in Lock3 Park, please check back as we get closer to the date to confirm. We'll email anyone who RSVPs with the confirmed location too.

Details: Get over the work week blues with a different kind of blues! Come join Young Professionals of Akron and ArtCetera members as we hang out at the Lockbottom Blues & Jazz Club at Lock 4! The Peroni Beer Garden & Urban Eats will open at 6pm for our event with The Wanda Hunt Band performing at 7pm. Bring your lawn chairs and business cards for a relaxing night of networking and live music downtown.
